How we use it

We implement GA4 with custom events and attribution that feed reporting and media optimisation.

Where it fits

GA4 is the measurement foundation under everything else. Most reporting disputes we inherit are event-architecture problems, not data problems — so we define conversions once, implement them properly, and report against that definition consistently.

Why we rely on it
Event-based model captures real user journeys across devices
Feeds media platforms for better optimisation signals
Integrates with Search Console and Power BI for one narrative

The foundation everything else is judged on

GA4 is where nearly every marketing argument is either settled or made worse. When platforms disagree about lead volume, the cause is almost always event architecture rather than the data itself: one system counts a form view, another a submission, attribution windows differ, internal traffic was never excluded.

So we implement it deliberately. One agreed definition of a conversion, implemented once across GA4 and Tag Manager, then reported consistently. It is unglamorous work with a disproportionate effect on every decision that follows.

What proper implementation includes

Event and conversion architecture designed around your actual business outcomes, not the defaults. Cross-domain and subdomain configuration where journeys span properties. Internal and test traffic excluded. Call tracking integrated for phone-led sectors — omit it and reporting is fiction in industries like vocational training or commercial property, where most enquiries arrive by phone.

Consent and privacy handling configured to Australian obligations, and data retention set intentionally. We also connect Search Console for organic detail and export into Power BI where executive reporting needs to combine sources.

Why signal quality matters more every year

Advertising platforms now optimise automatically, which means the conversion signal you feed them determines where your money goes. Send a bidding system an inflated or mismeasured conversion and it will optimise diligently toward the wrong outcome — faster than a human could have made the same mistake.

The 2026 addition is that GA4 alone no longer describes discovery. With a large share of searches resolving without a click, we report GA4 beside AI visibility measurement so you can see brand demand forming in places that generate no session. Sessions remain necessary; they are no longer sufficient.
